Most dangerous island in the world is off the coast of Burma

The most dangerous islands in the world harbour some of the scariest threats to humans.

An island in Japan is considered to be dangerous due to the high radioactivity with most residents being forced to carry a gas mask at all times.

One island in Burma called Ramree Island is considered to be one of the most dangerous in the world after harbouring a dark secret.

It resulted in the deaths of hundreds of people.

The island off the coast of Burma was a big part of World War II with some battles taking place within it.

In 1945, British soldiers drove Japanese fighters off the main part of the island into the dense mangrove forests.

What no-one realised was that they are home to an unknown but large number of saltwater crocodiles.

The largest living crocodilian, according to National Geographic they are the animal “most likely to eat a human”.

They can reach up to 23 feet long and weigh 2,200 pounds.

Only 500 of the 1,000 soldiers escaped as the rest were eaten by the crocodiles

As the Japanese soldiers fled into the forest, only 500 of the 1,000 soldiers escaped as the rest were eaten by the crocodiles.

It has since been put into the Guinness World Record books as “Most Number of Fatalities in a Crocodile Attack”.

However, the claim was put across by naturalist Bruce Stanley Wright in his book “Wildlife Sketches Near and Far”, with no other sources to corroborate.

Historian Frank McLynn has refuted claims in his book “The Burma Campaign”, stating: “There is a single zoological problem. If ‘thousands of crocodiles’ were involved in the massacre, as in the urban (jungle) myth, how had these ravening monsters survived before and how were they to survive later?”

A beach to avoid has also been revealed on the shores of Mexico.

The dangerous waters hide strong currents underwater which can drag unsuspecting tourists underwater.

Called Playa Zipolite, it translates to “Beach of the Dead.”

After a huge amount of drownings in the water, a special team of lifeguards have been set up to prevent it from happening.
