Google Maps Street View reveals an insight into one of the most dangerous areas in the globe, known as Skid Row.

Many in the area live below the poverty line, at 41.8 per cent of the population.

Around 17,000 people live in the area, the name of which has become a generic term for a run down area, which the Cambridge Dictionary describes as: “A street or part of a town that is poor and dirty, where many people who have no jobs or homes spend time.”

Skid Row in Los Angeles, which is made of various streets in East Downtown LA including San Julian St and San Pedro, has been often referenced in popular culture.

Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” music video was filmed there, as was television show Starsky & Hutch.

Many homeless people live in the area, and there have been various attempts to “rehabilitate” the area.

The LA Times revealed that in the last six months the police have logged 1,051 violent crimes in the area and 2,787 property crimes.

They also state the area has the a high number of veterans living there, including amoung the highest rates if Vietnam veterans in the country.

Google Maps images from the area show many citizens standing around in the street.

Some are sat on pieces of cardboard on the pavement, while other’s have sit on large trolleys stacked high with bags and clothing.

Other scenes how people sat along the street relaxing as a police car appears to pull up.

Many homeless people have pitched their tents along the side of road, with tarpaulin and cloth hung over them to keep them cool.

A UFO has been seen on Google Maps, according to some. 

Spotted in Ochopee, Florida, something strange and unidentifiable as been caught.

The unknown object can be seen hovering over the trees in a deserted section of the preserve.

The sighting happened alongside a path running through the park.
