Google Earth has mapped the world in a large 3D image, unearthing some of the world’s most beautiful images.

From natural sights to stunning architecture, it has opened up the planet to everyone.

Sometimes it can also capture unexplainable images, be it alien enthusiasts discovering ‘UFO landing sites’ or creepy structures.

Eagle-eyed users have spotted something rather creepy in the depths of the water in Antarctica.

There are many islands around Antartica, and one of those is Deception Island, which boasts one of the safest harbours.

As part of the South Shetland islands in Antartica there are a few dark spots surrounding the island.

When zooming into one of them, nothing appears out of the ordinary at first glance.

Yet a closer inspection reveals a mysterious green glow as if from out of nowhere, raising questions as to what it could be.

It measure 96 yards across and is 25 yards in length, meaning it is too large to be a normal animal.

Many have stated it is an underwater creature hiding in the depths, with some suggesting it is the famous Kraken sea-monser.

The most likely story is that it is glitch with the cameras or simply the underwater currents.

Others have suggested it could be lights from a submarine or Navy ship, or even phytoplankton in the water.

They light up when disturbed, offered a credible theory to the story.

Yet Antarctica has been home to a number of bizarre images on Google Earth which have baffled online users.

A UFO crash landing site was unearthed in Antartica which prompted questions.

The large hole appeared to show something had crash landed in the snow, measuring 230 feet long.

Yet experts debunked this and stated that the crevasse most likely came from the movement of ice.

A mysterious red X  was also found on Google Maps, pointing at something in Antarctica.

The glitch was suggested to be suggesting somewhere hidden, whilst other implied it was just an error with Google.
